West Country PGI Grass Fed Steaks

Offering the best value for a restaurant quality steak

The West Country Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) for beef is a designation that recognizes the unique quality and characteristics of beef produced in the South West of England. This area, known as the West Country, includes the counties of Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Gloucestershire, Dorset, and Wiltshire. In our case this is predominantly beef from Devon & SomersetTo qualify for the West Country PGI, the beef must come from animals born, raised, and slaughtered in the designated area. Additionally, these animals must be fed a diet that consists of at least 70% forage, which includes grass, silage, hay, or a combination of these. This requirement aims to ensure that the beef retains the specific qualities that are influenced by the region's unique environment, including its soil, climate, and traditional farming practices.
